Chris Lucero, Board President, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney
Chris joined Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in 2001. He has become an active member of Tacoma’s nonprofit world, affiliated as the President of Rebuilding Together South Sound, President of Young Professionals Network of Tacoma Pierce County, Member and Past President of Tacoma Executive Association, Director of Community Service and Board Member of Tacoma Sunrise Rotary, Board Member of the Cliff Street Lofts Home Owners Association, Volunteer in Werlin (Read-To-Me) Reading Program, Past Advisory Board Member of University of Puget Sound Beta Theta Pi Fraternity,  and Past Member of University of Washington Tacoma Non Profit Governance Committee.


Haley Iselin, First Vice President, Metal Roof Specialties
Haley Iselin has been a part of RTSS for 5 years, both serving on the board and volunteering.  She works in one of the family businesses, Metal Roof Specialties in Tacoma, as the Chief Administrative Officer.  She spends some of her spare time helping at the other family business, A Picket Fence gift shop in downtown Sumner.  Haley was born and raised in the Lake Tapps area and currently resides in Puyallup.  She enjoys many things, from riding her harley, gardening and sporting events, to helping in the community in any way possible.

 
Kim Taylor, Second Vice President,  Master Builders Association of Pierce County

Kim has been a resident of Tacoma since 1999 when she bought her first house, a craftsman home built in 1910. In 2008, she began working for the Master Builders Association of Pierce County, a trade association representing over 700 businesses in Pierce County involved in the residential construction industry. Her primary responsibilities for the past five years at MBA have involved membership recruitment, retention and developing benefit programs for members and promote the members doing business with members program. In addition to membership duties, she also staffs the MBA’s newly formed Design Professionals Council. In her spare time, in addition to working on the Events Committee of Rebuilding Together South Sound, Kim volunteers with the Multiple Sclerosis Society, a pet rescue organization and participates in the Walk A Mile In Her Shoes fundraiser for the Sexual Assault Center of Pierce County.  


Nilmah Mills, Treasurer, Gray Lumber

Nilmah Mills has been in accounting at Gray Lumber, a long-time supporter of Rebuilding Together South Sound, for more thank 30 years. She lives in Tacoma with her husband of 40 years, George with whom she raised her 3 children. She also enjoys gardening and Palm Desert, CA.


Tom Berquist, Past President, BECU
Tom Berquist is the  Senior Vice President of Member Strategies; he leads BECU’s marketing, community affairs, and strategic planning efforts. Prior to joining BECU, he started his career in financial services with Bank of America. In addition to serving on the board of Rebuilding Together South Sound, he is a trustee of the Washington Credit Union Foundation and serves on the advisory board for the Center for Business Ethics at Albers School of Business and Economics. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington and a MBA from Seattle University.


George Barnes, Hilger Construction
George has been involved in construction since 1967 and he joined Hilger Construction in 2000. George operated his own custom contracting firm for 18 years, then worked as a construction consultant for clients in the Pacific Rim, Europe, South America, and the Middle East. He also developed estimating and product-marketing programs and produced estimates that have been used by several major stock plan services in the USA for over ten years. George's primary duties include project estimating, bidding and contract negotiating, supplier and subcontractor contract development and submittal reviews, client liaison, and project management. He has been instrumental in USPS project estimating and scope development and is proficient in the "Progen" estimating system as well as all our federal government projects, including many current and completed projects at Joint Base Lewis McChord. George is currently project managing our most current project at Madigan Army Medical Center, the repair of the emergency room.


Rich Clark, Paul Davis Restoration
Rich Clark, General Manager of Paul Davis Restoration of Olympia, is married with Christa and has two boys, Dru, aged 12, and Asher, aged 6.  Originally from Australia, Rich has lived in the Pierce County for almost 20 years.  He graduated from the University of Washington, Tacoma with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.   Rich has been working for Paul Davis since 2002 and has been in this industry for well over a decade.  He is serving on the RTSS Board for his third year, and has been a house captain several times.  He serves because he wants to give back to his community that has blessed him and his family in so many ways.  Rich has a heart for marriage ministry, and he and Christa serve by hosting marriage studies and attending marriage classes together.  He enjoys watching and playing sports including bike riding, backpacking, and hockey.  Rich also loves to spend time with his family playing board games.   


Mark Egner, Frank and Sons Construction
Mark has lived in the Puget Sound Area for the last 33 years; in Buckley for the last 12 years. He is married with three grown children and two grandchildren who all live within 50 miles. For the last 15 years he has worked with his father doing remodeling and additions and has been a member of several associations related to that work in this area. When he isn’t working or volunteering on projects, he enjoys four-wheeling in his Jeep and spending time outdoors.


Carol Ellis
Carol  retired from teaching in 2003 after 40 years. She and her husband, Duane, have been married 43 years and have two daughters  and of course dogs. They have lived in Gig Harbor forever. She enjoys golf, biking, tennis, traveling and spending time at the ocean with friends and family.


Debra Fayne
Debra is a disabled Army veteran and homeowner in Tacoma. She is a single mother of two children and is expecting her first grandchild (a boy) in January.


Donovan Gladstone, GAF Corporation
Donovan Gladstone has been a board member for Rebuilding Together South Sound for 3 years and is the Chair of the Sponsorship Committee. He previously served 1 year on the Board of Directors for Rebuilding Together – Portland, OR Chapter.  Donovan is the W. Washington Sales Manager for GAF Corporation – the largest roofing manufacturer in North American.  He is a graduate of Western Washington University with a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in MarketingBorn in Tacoma, WA, Donovan grew up in Lakebay on the Key Peninsula.   His personal home burned down when he was a child and it was the community that helped in their time of need.  It is his personal goal and desire to give back to the community to help those in need.


Pam Hendrickson
Pam lives in North Tacoma with husband Gary Hendrickson and three girls.  She volunteers in her children’s school, with Mary Bridge Festival of Trees, her church and with Rebuilding Together South Sound.  Her family loves to travel, ski and play golf and her girls keep her busy with 4-H horse events and riding lessons year round.


Alicia Lawver, City of Tacoma
Alicia Lawver is the community relations specialist for the City of Tacoma’s surface water and wastewater utilities, where she enjoys telling people about the wonders of community gardens, biosolids, how to protect Puget Sound from pollution and what not to flush down the toilet. Alicia graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a bachelor’s degree in communication and spent more than a decade as an editor, designer and reporter at several Western Washington newspapers and magazines. Alicia lives in Tacoma with her husband and three children. During her elusive free time, Alicia enjoys writing, cooking, travelling and roller derby.  


Jim Rogers, Absher Construction Company
Jim joined Absher as a Finish Carpenter in 1983, and became a Foreman and Project Manager in 1985, working on projects that included St. Joseph Hospital, Tacoma’s Frank S. Baker Medical Center, Sparks Stadium in Puyallup and others. Jim became a Superintendent in 1989 and quickly developed a reputation as a thoroughly professional and effective supervisor and construction manager. He brings a success-driven team-oriented attitude not only to his construction projects, but also to his service to the community.  Jim has been a true model of Absher’s core purpose, To build community with vision and compassion. He has participated on Absher’s Rebuilding Together South Sound team every year since they became involved in the program more than seven years ago. Jim has been a house captain for Rebuilding Together multiple years as well. Jim has served as a “Beacon”, or coordinator, of Absher’s Holiday Lights program, serving the needs of struggling families during the holiday season. He also actively supports the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk. Every Thanksgiving Jim and his family serve a holiday dinner to the residents of the YWCA Women’s Shelter in honor of the loved ones they have lost. In 2009 Jim was given Absher’s community service award in recognition of his generosity of time and talent and dedication to helping others.


Bill Sweatman, Sweatman Young
Bill was born in Jamestown New York, one of 9 children; he lived in Alaska for 13 years and have lived in Bonney Lake WA for 25 years now. He has been a general contractor for 22 years. Bill also served on the Bonney Lake design commission for 4 years and was involved in establishing the Bonney Lake Youth Association. He is a certified aging in place specialist, certified graduate builder, certified graduate remodeler and certified green professional.


Linda Troeh, Sound Refining
Linda Troeh was born and raised in Tacoma, WA.  She has worked at Targa Sound Terminal (formerly Sound Refining, Inc.) a petroleum terminal located in the Port of Tacoma, for 26 years  as Human Resources and Customer Service Manager.  Linda first got involved with Rebuilding Together South Sound by being a volunteer coordinator on Rebuilding Day 2010.  Linda is also on the Board of Directors for daughter’s High School Booster Club.  She is looking forward to coordinating many years of successful events with Rebuilding Together.
